The Brief
The homeowner wanted to transform three dated bathrooms into spaces that felt calm, earthy and deeply connected to the surrounding Northern Rivers landscape. Rather than prescribing a detailed design direction, she entrusted our in-house design team with complete creative freedom, asking only for a home that felt layered, textural and timeless. This trust gave our team the opportunity to create a cohesive collection of spaces that reflected both the architecture of the home and the way she wanted to live, ultimately recognised with a 2026 Master Builders Excellence in Building Award.

The Starting Point
Design Development
With complete trust placed in our in-house design team, this project became an opportunity to explore a layered and highly considered design response. Rather than relying on bold statements, the concept was developed through texture, natural materiality and subtle tonal contrast, creating three distinct spaces that feel connected through a consistent design language.
Throughout the design development process, every decidsion - from layouts and joinery to lighting, finishes and detailing - was carefully refined before construction commenced, ensuring the project could be delivered exactly as envisioned.

Design Highlights
Every detail of this renovation was carefully considered to balance aesthetics, functionality and longevity. From technical coordination to bespoke craftsmanship, these features helped define the finished result.
LAYERED LIGHTING
Lighting was carefully layered throughout the project using arched LED mirrors, handcrafted ceramic wall sconces, integrated shower and bath niche lighting, under-vanity illumination and discreet sensor lighting. Together, these elements create a calm, ambient atmosphere while enhancing everyday functionality.
ARCHITECTURAL DETAILING
Flush-mounted Zetr antique brass switches and GPOs were selected to complement the refined material palette. Achieving this seamless architectural finish required exceptional coordination between plastering, tiling and electrical trades to ensure every element aligned perfectly.
EVERYDAY LUXURY
Everyday comfort was elevated through a carefully curated selection of premium inclusions, including underfloor heating, smart toilet, freestanding bathtub with floor-mounted tapware, full-height glazing and generous walk-in showers. Recessed mirrored cabinetry, engineered stone benchtops and thoughtfully integrated storage ensure each space is as practical as it is luxurious, creating a calm, resort-inspired experience.
CURATED MATERIAL PALETTE
A carefully curated palette of travertine-look porcelain, handmade feature tiles, bespoke walnut cabinetry, matte white concrete basins and ABI Interiors gunmetal tapware establishes a warm, textural foundation. Carefully considered moments of colour and contrast introduce individuality while maintaining a harmonious and timeless design language across each space.
PERSONALISED DESIGN
Every room was individually composed using a carefully curated combination of tile collections, formats and textures, creating spaces with their own distinct character while remaining visually connected through a cohesive design language. In the powder room, a bespoke feature wall was inspired by the homeowner's Italian fireplace, reinterpreting its distinctive mustard tones into a custom tile composition that adds colour, character and personal connection to the home
